Microsoft Finally Listening to Email Marketing Industry? - 06.09.2009

One of the biggest issues in email marketing is the lack of adherence to web standards across many of the most common email clients. When Microsoft chose to use the HTML capability of Word for rendering emails in Outlook 2007 it was a huge setback for standards compliance in email. In the hope of seeing a change in the next version, slated for release in 2010, the Email Standards Project have been lobbying Microsoft hard, and it seems there may finally be some light at the end of the tunnel. Helping GDF SUEZ Become a Little Greener - 18.04.2009

Dedicated to serving business customers GDF SUEZ ENERGY UK have some of the most respected and knowledgeable energy specialists in the country.

Their regular bulletins help customers to keep informed on the often complex issues in the energy industry. As part of their commitment to the environment however, they wanted to find a greener way of delivering them. Working with Jarrang to switch from print to email helped them do just that.

On Board With Viking River Cruises - 30.11.2008

Leading travel company Viking River Cruises recently engaged Jarrang to help keep their customers up to date with their latest news and offers, delivering regular email campaigns promoting their voyages of discovery along the great rivers and waterways of Europe, Russia and China.

It's not all about downstream communications however. We've also set up an system to automate bookings for a series of promotional events around the country taking place in the new year. Attendees registering online receive instant confirmation of their booking and tickets for the events via email.

New Member of the Jarrang Team - 18.08.2008

Continued growth in our client portfolio means we have needed to expand our team. In order to maintain the high standard of service our clients have come to expect from us we've recruited a dedicated Account Manager, allowing Stafford to focus more of his time on business development.

Claire Gandy brings a wealth of experience to the team having held similar roles in Cornwall, London and Wellington, New Zealand, where she has worked with some of the biggest brands in the business. Welcome to the team Claire!

Celebrating Our Fifth Birthday - 20.06.2008

We're not sure where the time has gone, but it's true, Jarrang is five years old this year. We thought we'd celebrate by getting the whole team out together with our clients and partners and having a bit of a party. Suffice to say a good time was had by all, and many a face was put to a name, although there were some complaints about the distinct lack of jelly and ice cream.

Hong Kong Digital Pioneers Visit UK - 11.02.2008

Cornwall’s growing creative media industry has been showcased to two highly successful digital entrepreneurs from Hong Kong who visited London and Cornwall as part of a British Council Digital Pioneers Programme. In Cornwall they were hosted by our very own Stafford Sumner, himself a Digital Pioneer. A highlight of their tour was a visit to University College Falmouth’s Media Centre at the Combined Universities in Cornwall (CUC) Tremough Campus, at Penryn.

Stafford said: “My time as a Digital Pioneer has led to valuable contacts and enabled me to promote Cornwall in Asia. I am aiming to strengthen links between businesses and the Combined Universities in Cornwall so companies like mine can easily source graduates with the right skills on their doorstep".

Growing Greener - 01.11.2007

Inspired by a recent campaign (view it here) we've been looking at ways to reduce our environmental impact. As an online business taking advantage of remote working, we're doing what we can to reduce our carbon footprint. However we've also decided to do something about those emissions that we can't avoid.

We're working with a charity dedicated to tackling climate change, to estimate how much carbon would be produced as a result of our business activities. Based on this we've made a contribution to support their managed forestry, renewable energy and education projects.

Heard It Through The Grapevine - 12.09.2007

From the feedback we receive we know that many of you speak favourably of us and the work we do. So we thought it would be a good idea to ask you to spread the word on our behalf and tell all your friends about us.

Of course we wouldn't let such a good deed to go unnoticed. So for each new client introduced to us who signs up to a regular contract, we'll give a case of quality wine to whoever recommended them. It's our way of saying thanks.

One Simple Solution - 14.05.2007

In March the Government announced that Cornwall County Council's OneCornwall One Council proposal met the assessment criteria and should go forward for further consultation. As part of this consultation, the views of partners and stakeholders were sought on the proposals at a special event.

Looking for a quick and simple way to manage attendance, guests were invited by email and could register via an online form, all produced by Jarrang.

Pushing The Email Envelope - 01.04.2007

When surfwear maker Finisterre wanted to incorporate a YouTube clip in their email campaign we had to admit it wasn't something we'd done (or seen done) before. In testing we found embedding it directly would cause the message to be blocked by a number of email services. However by linking an image of it to a webpage version their customers were still able to enjoy the clip. Radical.
