Business Development Manager

This exciting role is to support the continued growth of our B2B email marketing agency services for both direct and indirect channels.

This is primarily a new business sales role, with an element of responsibility for the retention and growth of an existing portfolio including: Seeking out new clients, conversion of inbound enquiries & supporting onboarding; Development and management of the indirect channel; and Upsell, renewal & revenue performance of existing clients alongside the Client Success Team.

The candidate will join our friendly and high performing team to support and continue the success and growth of our email marketing agency services. There is a strong opportunity for additional earnings paid on a quarterly basis.

The successful candidate will be focused on business development with a passion for business, marketing and customer success. They will be achievement-driven, a strong team-player, professional and with exceptional customer–relationship skills.

This  is a professional sales role based primarily in England (ideal candidate will be based within the ‘Central-triangle’ comprising London, Bristol and Birmingham) with an expectation of regular travel and face to face meetings with clients, prospects & colleagues. There is an expectation that if opportunities are created elsewhere in the UK the successful candidate would seize these as the chance to increase their revenue.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve sales and profitability target
  • Plan the working week combining calls, meetings and appointments
  • Organise consultative scoping and review meetings
  • Use own network to drive referral business
  • Create successful proposals and pitches
  • Work closely with the marketing team to promote the services and create inbound enquiries
  • Participate in relevant forums, discussions and events to further develop the business
  • Support customers and internal teams with successful onboarding
  • Ongoing support of existing key clients across client satisfaction, revenue growth from cross and upsell of solutions
  • Promote and maintain the culture and service standards of the business

The Successful Candidate:

  • 2-3 years experience in a similar role
  • Has own established network on which to build their pipeline - especially marketing and digital agencies
  • New business development
  • Fluent in English
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • IT meeting and presentation tools
  • Knowledge of CRM management
  • Knowledge of consultative selling techniques
  • Scheduling, activity planning and pipeline management
  • Ability to engage stakeholders at a variety of levels
  • Excellent customer relationship skills
  • Passion for business and marketing
